"To Infinity, and Beyond!"

Toy Story was Pixar's first full-length feature film and I still consider it their best. I'm too young to remember when the original one was first released, but I remember seeing the sequel in theaters the day it came out, and I recently saw the new 3D movie twice while it was in theaters.Toy Story is a great movie to watch with the family because kids love it and there's even a little bit of hidden comedy for the adults that I picked up on as I got older and when I watched it with my little brother. Toy Story is definitely a movie that I am going to pass on to my kids when I am older because it really is one of the best movies from my childhood.

Dad's Choice

Here are some movies that were made in the 90s, but I didn't see them until recently. These are all classic movies that I will always love to watch. Most of these movies I have only seen because my Dad buys them and makes my sisters and I watch them with him, but I'm glad he does because I always end up loving the movies that he makes us watch.
  • Forrest Gump
  • The Sixth Sense
  • The Titanic
  • Shawshank Redemption
  • Saving Private Ryan
  • Silence of the Lambs
  • Good Will Hunting
  • Groundhog Day
  • Searching for Bobby Fischer

The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is one of the few shows from back then that is still on regularly now. Anyone around for the 90s that doesn't know the words to this theme song must have been living under a rock.
This is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I liked to take a minute just sit right there
And tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air
In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground is where I spent most of my days
Chillin out, maxin, relaxing all cool,
And all shooting some b-ball outside of school
When a couple of guys who were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one lil fight and my mom got scared
And said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air"
I Begged and pleaded with her day after day,
But she packed my suitcase and sent me on my way
She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket
So I put my walkman on and said I might as well kick it
First class yo this is bad
Drinking orange juice out of a champaine glass
Is this what the people of Bel-Air living like?
Hmm this might be allright
But wait I hear prissy, bourgeois and all that
Is this the type of place they should send this cool cat
I don't think, I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the prince of Bel-Air
Well ah the plain landed and I came out
There was a dude that looked like a cop standing there with my name out
I aint trying to get arrested yet I just got here
I sprang with the quickness of lightning and dissapeared
I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said FRESH and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I can say this cab is rare
But I thought naw forget it yo homes to Bel-Air
I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the cabby "Yo homes smell ya later"
I looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air

Remember these?

Most kid likes to watch tv and any kid that was around for the 90s will definitely remember these.
  • Scooby Doo
  • Rocket Power
  • Catdog
  • All That
  • Pinky and the Brain
  • Rugrats
  • Hey Arnold
  • Kenan and Kel
  • Johnny Bravo
  • Are You Afraid Of The Dark?
  • Rocco's Modern Life
  • The Wild Thornberrys
I watched  most of these shows when I was little and I wish some of them were still on because back then cartoons were actually worth getting up for on a Saturday morning. One that I didn't list, The Big Comfy Couch, was my all time favorite show when I was younger. I used to have the Loonette and Molly dolls, and I had a big comfy couch for them to sit on. Every episode Loonette did a clock stretch and every time I watched it, I never failed to get on the ground and do it with her. And every time she did a ten second clean up, I was running around the room picking up everything as fast as I could.

Before Brit Went Bad

Who would have ever thought that the innocent girl with a hit album would become a provocative and controversial performer. Britney Spears began her career as a child in the Mickey Mouse Club. She then beacme very popular in mainstream music and pop culture with her debut album, Hit me One More Time. She was even credited with bringing back teen pop  during the 1990s. In 2000 Britney began to "go bad" when she performed at the MTV Video Music Awards. She ripped off her clothes to uncover a revealing skin-colored outfit follwed by a dance routine. Critics say that her performance that night was the beginning of her becoming a provocatvie performer.

Most Memorable Songs of the 90s

If you were a 90s kid you'll definitely have a good time thinking back to when these were the songs you sang along to..
  • Tearin' Up My Heart- NSYNC
  • Wannabe-Spice Girls
  • My Name Is-Eminem
  • Jump Around-House Of Pain
  • Baby Got Back- Sir Mix A Lot
  • Say My Name-Destiny's Child
  • I Want It That Way-Backstreet Boys
  • Baby One More Time-Britney Spears
  • Livin' La Vida Loca-Ricky Martin
  • Genie In A Bottle-Christina Aguilera
  • Wonderwall-Oasis
  • Gettin' Jiggy Wit It-Will Smith
  • California Love-2pac(feat. Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman)
  • Can't Touch This-MC Hammer
  • Ice Ice Baby-Vanilla Ice
I love when one of these songs comes on my ipod when it's on shuffle or when Fly92 has their "90s Throwback Weekend" on the radio. My Name Is is one of my favorite songs to listen to now and I still know all of the words to Wannabe. Even though it's a little bit embarrassing, I remember when I was little I used to put on Bye, Bye, Bye, by NSYNC, and I would dance to it all by myself, and when I was in the shower I used to always sing along to Britney Spears because I wanted to be a a singer like her when I grew up.

Looking back...

Even though we were pretty young during the 90s, most kids my age like to look back at everything from that decade. Sometimes it's fun to listen to the old music or talk about the movies and tv shows that we used to watch, or the toys that we played with as kids, so this is a place where all of that can happen.
